Is 8mm too small for a first hoop?
It is intentionally small. The hoop measures 8mm on the outer diameter and 6mm on the inner diameter at a 20G or 0.9mm gauge, so it hugs the lobe closely instead of dangling. That makes it comfortable for all day and overnight wear and easy to stack, but it is not a statement hoop. Sold as a pair, comes in 2 pieces.
How do I wear an endless twist hoop without bending it out of shape?
Twist, do not pull. Hold both ends and turn them gently in opposite directions, moving one end up and the other down, so the circle stays true. Pass the open end through your piercing and twist back to close. Pulling the ends apart sideways is what turns a hoop oval, and once the shape has gone it is difficult to correct.
